Summer Housing
Offering summer housing options for camps, conferences and student internships.
Residence Life offers an overnight stay in a campus residence hall with furnished rooms for an extremely reasonable price for community, campus and business partners hosting camps and conferences at LR and business in our local community with summer interns.
LR Residence Life coordinates the overnight stay for camps, conferences and intern participants. Meals, meeting/event spaces, parking, etc. must all be coordinated with the proper LR office you are collaborating with or through the Office of Conferences and Events.
All LR students who wish to have housing over the summer will receive separate information from the Office of Residence Life and should not complete the interest form below.

Summer Housing Timeline
- Overnight stay for summer is only offered for camps, conferences, and interns from June 1-July 31 each calendar year. Any stays outside of this date range must be requested and approved by the Dean of Students before a reservation can be confirmed.
- Reservation form opens January 12 at 8 a.m.
- A completed form is required to host overnight on-campus participants.
- Reservable space is limited. Submitting your request as early as possible is recommended.
- Once form is received, you will receive a decision within 5-10 business days from Residence Life.
- Reservation form closes May 1 at 5 p.m.
- A completed participant room assignment roster must be provided to the Residence Life staff at least seven business days prior to the start of the scheduled conference.
- Any keys and key cards checked out and not returned within 24 hours of check-out will be charged (see pricing and additional information below).

Costs & Additional Information
Housing
- Double Occupancy – two participants per room
- $35 per night (flat rate; tax included)
- Single Occupancy – 1 participant per room
- $40 per night (flat rate; tax included)
- Single Occupancy will not be applied to uneven numbers of participants but will be applied to participants placed in designated single rooms.
- Utilizing private rooms will lower the number of participants that can be housed with each group and cannot be guaranteed due to space restrictions.
Facility Fees and Usage
- Usage fees for campus facilities are determined by the respective managing departments:
- Conference & Events assigns fees based on space use and staffing needs.
- Athletics assigns fees for the use of athletic facilities, including services such as field/ gym lining, equipment setup, and lifeguard staffing.
- Any additional staffing, equipment or furnishings required for a camp will be charged to the camp organizers.
- Events requiring significant setup, cleanup or specialized personnel may incur additional charges.
- Security Notification: Camp organizers must notify Public Safety regarding traffic, parking, overnight guests and other logistics at least two weeks prior to the event. Additional security needs may result in further charges to the organizers. A final list of overnight guests is due to Public Safety a week prior to the event.
- Cleanup/Damage Fee: An "at cost" fee will be charged for any unusual cleaning or repairs needed beyond ordinary wear and tear.

Housing Conference Policies
- The number of participants cannot exceed the participant estimate provided in the reservation form. Residence Life plans space options as efficiently as possible to fit our guests, so numbers that exceed the original approved estimate are not guaranteed a stay in the residence hall.
- All guests will receive the summer guest Wi-Fi code at the start of their stay within the residence halls. Please note that the university uses different Wi-Fi networks in different areas of campus.
- Inside the residence halls: connect using the summer guest Wi-Fi code you were provided.
- Summer is the primary time available to complete maintenance work/repair work in the halls. Please advise your participants that facilities staff and contractors may be present in the building. Be aware of your valuables. Leave anything of extreme value at home. The doors to your rooms should be locked at all times. Your participants should also be aware about leaving any hall doors or exterior doors propped open.
- If you find anything missing, report this to Public Safety. They will assist you by connecting with the Residence Life contact person for the camp or conference.
- All participants are required to bring their own linens, pillow and sheets for a twin XL bed.

Meals
- Dining Services Notification: All external groups intending to use Aramark Dining Services must notify the dining office at least one week in advance of the event.
- Billing: Charges are based on either the guaranteed or actual number of meals served—whichever is higher.
- Meal Rates: Aramark will assign flat per-meal rates for breakfasts, lunches and dinners during the summer when the cafeteria is open.
- If the cafeteria is closed, camp organizers must coordinate directly with Aramark Catering for food service.
- Outside Food: During the summer, camps may bring in food from off campus, provided they adhere to cleanup protocols and submit their food plan to Conference and Events for approval in advance.

Summer Internship Housing
Applications for summer internship housing open on January 12, 2025, ahead of the summer term. All interested interns must complete the designated interest form by May 1, 2025. Once submitted, the Office of Residence Life will follow up regarding the next steps.
Housing Rates
- Single Occupancy: $800/month or $225/week
(This rate applies to interns who are assigned a private room within a shared apartment.)
Payment Deadlines
- June 15 - First payment due
- July 15 - Final payment due
- All balances must be paid in full by July 15 or by the intern’s designated checkout date, whichever comes first.
- Interns may also pay their full balance in advance.
- All housing charges will be billed through the Business Office.
