Graduate Assistant, Library (Lineberger Collection)
Location: Hickory, North Carolina
Position Summary
The Carl A. Rudisill Library seeks a graduate assistant to support the Lineberger Collection. This position is responsible for providing supervisory, research, and customer service support within the library, and plays a key role in the promotion and maintenance of library resources and services.
Primary Responsibilities
- Supervise undergraduate student library assistants during shared shifts related to the Lineberger Collection.
- Use the library’s online catalog and databases to guide visitors to appropriate resources.
- Assist with collection management tasks, including pulling and processing books for de-selection and addition to the collection.
- Support the processing of interlibrary loan items.
- Provide front-line customer service to library visitors at the circulation desk.
- Participate in library outreach events to promote available resources and services.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
- Full-time enrollment in a graduate program at Lenoir-Rhyne University.
Preferred Skills and Abilities
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent interpersonal communication and customer service abilities.
- Familiarity with library databases, catalogs, and research tools.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Work Schedule
- 25 to 29 hours per week.
- Schedule will be determined in coordination with library staff and based on student availability.
