Graduate Assistant, International Education

Position Summary
The Graduate Assistant for the Center for International Education will support a variety of programs and services designed to enhance the experience of international students and promote global engagement on campus. This position plays a key role in supporting international student orientation, events, peer programs, marketing efforts, and administrative operations.
Primary Responsibilities
- Support international students by providing social and cultural guidance.
- Assist with planning and implementation of orientation for new international students.
- Help plan, organize, and host weekly events for both U.S. and international students in the Center’s global communities.
- Assist in managing the Center’s peer mentorship program and residential learning community.
- Maintain regular communication with students in global communities via email, RAFTR, and WhatsApp.
- Support campuswide international education events.
- Assist in marketing cultural events, study abroad opportunities, scholarships, and related programming.
- Perform basic administrative tasks such as copying, filing, and data entry.
Preferred Qualifications
- Must be currently enrolled as a graduate student at Lenoir-Rhyne University.
- Availability for regular evening and weekend hours; flexibility required based on weekly needs.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage culturally sensitive situations and work with a diverse student population.
- Experience with traditional and digital marketing platforms.
- Strong commitment to confidentiality and professional discretion.
- Experience living, studying, or working abroad is preferred.
