Graduate Assistant, Counseling and Wellness
Location: Hickory, North Carolina
Position Summary:
A part-time Graduate Assistant is sought to provide administrative support to the Lenoir-Rhyne Counseling and Wellness Center. The individual in this position will contribute to Lenoir-Rhyne’s mission to pursue the development of the whole person through helping students grow personally and gain insight into their behaviors and development of self.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy and work with individuals at all levels of the university.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills with a heightened attention to detail.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and Powercampus.
- Capable of following in-depth instructions to ensure that center policies are followed, especially in terms of record keeping and disposal.
Education and Experience:
- Student must be enrolled in graduate programs at Lenoir-Rhyne, with preference given to those who are enrolled in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
Work Schedule:
- 20 hours a week, flex schedule. Hours will depend on availability of graduate student.
