Clinical Education Administrative Assistant, College of Health Sciences
Location: Hickory, North Carolina
Position Description
The clinical education administrative assistant position focuses on assisting directors in coordination of clinical experiences for graduate students in the Physician Assistant Studies program (0.5 FTE) and the Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) and Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) programs (0.5 FTE) at Lenoir-Rhyne University. All positions are based on enrollment and subject to available funding.

Education and Experience
- Associate degree required; Bachelor’s degree in health-related field or business-related administrative skills preferred
- Experience working in health care related field preferred
Essential Accountabilities
- Assist the DNP/FNP program directors and the PA Studies director of clinical education with:
- Clinical site recruitment and monitoring clinical emails
- Contacting clinical sites for data gathering, availability and facilitate relationships
- Managing clinical placements for FNP/DNP and PA Studies programs of study:
- Securing rotations
- Collecting necessary paperwork
- Verifying preceptor credentials
- Securing contracts
- Assisting in preceptor benefit tracking
- Managing student compliance, on-boarding and tracking for clinical experiences (non-graded records-site evaluations, student logs, preceptor evaluations, etc.)
- Assisting in clinical tracking software training and monitoring
- Maintaining clinical site accounts and preceptor accounts
- Planning, coordinating, and executing logistics for School of Nursing and School of Physician Assistant Studies events and projects
- Provides support for FNP/DNP Immersion sessions
- Provides support for PA Studies OSCE and Simulation activities
- Coordinating, attending and preparing materials for meetings and special events, and record minutes as needed.
- Maintaining clinical tracking documents
- Establishing and maintaining affiliation agreements/ monitoring expiration dates
- Assisting in collection of clinical data for self-studies
- Assisting with collection of graduation information such as certification pass rates, employment status
- Performing other duties as assigned by the College Dean
Required Skills/Abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy and work with individuals at all levels of the university
- Excellent time management and organizational skills with a heightened attention to detail.
- Strong analytical skills and problem solving/conflict resolution skills.
- Knowledge about the university, its faculty, and its student population
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, Microsoft Teams or related software.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
- Ability to travel with students, faculty and staff throughout campus.
Work Schedule
- Standard office hours Monday through Friday 8 a.m.-5 p.m. with some flexibility possible
- Subject to change based on university need, scheduled courses, and university growth
- Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand with credit given
