Michael Stiff

Michael R. Stiff is an associate professor of biology. He joined the LR faculty in 2015 and teaches introductory biology lectures. He also guides undergraduate students through independent research in the fields of plant cell and molecular biology as well as applied microbiology. Stiff aims to inspire undergraduates to think critically and apply scientific principles, engaging students through hands-on, student-centered learning, discussion and independent research.    

Stiff was a post-doctoral research scholar in the North Carolina State University Department of Crop and Soil Sciences. His research interests include the study of cotton fiber and plant cellular biology.
