Kellie Medley was named the director of residence life in fall 2022. Her responsibilities include managing housing assignments, organizing move-in and move-out days, collaborating with offices across the university to develop relevant and meaningful training sessions and community development experiences in the residence halls, training and supervising resident advisors and directors, reviewing and enforcing relevant student life policies and other duties to support student development and residence life.

Previously, she held the title of coordinator of alcohol and drug education and counselor at Lenoir-Rhyne. In this role, she assisted in providing individual counseling and mental health outreach services to both graduate and undergraduate level students and faculty and staff on the Hickory campus. Medley also consulted with mental health professionals regarding student's issues for referrals and appropriate care. In addition, she consulted with community health providers and student support and wellness professionals regarding the physical health and need for medications for clients' well-being.
