Ajay Kumara

Ajay Kumara is a visiting assistant professor of computer science at Lenoir-Rhyne University since 2021. He teaches undergraduate computer science, security and software programming courses. In addition, he is continuing his independent research in malware analysis, reverse engineering, virtualization and deep learning. 

Previously, he worked as a post-doctoral researcher at Pennsylvania State University, University of Arizona and Florida International University. His post-doctoral research involved working on critical cyber security projects sponsored by the Department of Defense, Office of Naval Research and National Science Foundation. 

Kumara's objective of his doctoral research was to perform malware analysis using virtual machine introspection at the hypervisor level by leveraging machine learning algorithms. He has published research articles in several high-impact factor journals with publishers like Elsevier and Springer and peer-review conferences. He also co-authored a book chapter.

In his free time, Kumara enjoys bike riding, working out, playing badminton and spending time with his family.
