Graduate Assistant, Fritz Honors College
Location: Hickory, North Carolina
Reports to: Dean of the Fritz Honors College
The graduate assistant supports the daily operations of the new Fritz Honors College at Lenoir-Rhyne University. This role assists the dean in developing policies and practices, creating college culture and traditions, communicating with students and faculty (including through social media), organizing special events, managing classroom and social spaces, processing payments, and collecting data.
As the Honors College GA, you will play a vital role in enhancing Lenoir-Rhyne’s recruitment and retention of academically motivated and engaged students, while helping to foster a dynamic and supportive learning and social environment for Honors College students and faculty.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will:
- Communicate effectively in speech and writing.
- Demonstrate strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Be currently enrolled in a graduate program at Lenoir-Rhyne University.
- Have experience with honors programs or other enhanced learning, civic engagement, or service opportunities in higher education.
- Be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Be flexible and able to adapt to changing priorities.
Working Conditions
This is a part-time position requiring 20 hours per week. The graduate assistant will primarily work in an office environment but may occasionally be required to attend or coordinate events outside of normal business hours.
