Experience the magic of Lenoir-Rhyne by making plans to attend your class reunion! Over Homecoming Weekend, LR will help four classes celebrate milestone reunions, the Class of 1974 will celebrate its 50th reunion, the Class of 1984 will celebrate its 40th reunion, the Class of 1999 will celebrate its 25th reunion, and the Class of 2014 will celebrate its 10th reunion. So save the date for reunion weekend 2024, Oct. 25-26.

The Office of Alumni Engagement is looking for alumni from these classes to be on the planning committee. If interested, contact Mary Ellen Sherrill '10, at maryellen.sherrill@lr.edu or 828.328.7351.

Golden Bear Reunion


Make plans to attend the 2024 Golden Bear Reunion which honors all LR Alumni who are celebrating their 60th class reunion this year. Golden Bears and their guests are invited back to campus on Saturday, April 13, 2024, for a morning program, Golden Bear Brunch and the spring football game. There will also be special recognition for the Class of 1964, who are celebrating their 60th class reunion this year.

All events are free unless otherwise noted. Registration is requested. Golf carts will be available for those who need assistance moving around campus.

  • 8:30 a.m. - Coffee and Pastries

    Belk Centrum Lobby

    Start your morning with a cup of coffee or tea while mingling with fellow Golden Bears before the program. 
     

  • 9-10 a.m. - Highlights of Today's LR

    Belk Centrum

    Begin your reunion celebration in Belk Centrum for an engaging program highlighting the exceptional endeavors happening at LR. Three dynamic 15-minute presentations led by LR faculty, staff and students will showcase the university’s innovative initiatives and unique projects. One of these presentations will be led by Dr. Charles Cooke ’59, who began teaching at LR in 1964 and plans to retire at the end of the academic year. 
     

  • 10:30 a.m. - Golden Bear Brunch

    Cromer Center Banquet Room

    Golden Bears are invited to a brunch buffet in the Cromer Center Banquet Room, located inside the campus dining hall, starting at 10:30 a.m. Alumni and their guests will indulge in a variety of morning delights while reconnecting with classmates and reminiscing about shared memories. During this time, we will pay special tribute to the class of 1964, celebrating their remarkable 60th reunion milestone. Additionally, university president, Dr. Fred Whitt, will provide an exclusive update including insights into the latest developments at LR.

  • 12 p.m. - Spring Football Game

    Moretz Stadium, Southwest Corner Suite

    Complete your reunion experience by attending the spring football game in Moretz Stadium. Golden Bears and their guests are welcome to watch this scrimmage from the southwest corner suite, conveniently situated near the main visitor entrance. This will be a great opportunity to see the new head coach, Doug Socha, in action! Stick around after the game for Bearapalooza and other athletic-themed events.

    Golf carts will be available for those who need assistance moving around campus.

Walk of Honor


Commemorate your milestone reunion year by purchasing a brick to be added on the Walk of Honor.
