Lindsay Weitkamp is an assistant professor of theatre and the theatre program coordinator. She has served as an educator, actor, director and applied theatre facilitator in a variety of locations – from K-12 and college classrooms to professional theatres and community centers. Her work explores the intersections of theatre, social change and human rights education, with a focus on how applied theatre and arts-based techniques serve to build community and bolster retention rates of first-generation college students. Prior to coming to LR, she worked with the TRIO educational opportunity program, Upward Bound, in several capacities.

In classrooms and rehearsal rooms, Weitkamp utilizes storytelling as a means to foster collaboration, creativity, empathy and engaged dialogue. Weitkamp is the faculty advisor for Playmakers as well as for Alpha Psi Omega, the National Theatre Honor Society.
