Institutional Research

The Office of Institutional Research (IR) works to uphold Lenoir-Rhyne's mission and vision by providing consistent and reliable data that informs and supports the university’s strategic plan and decisions. IR works all three of Lenoir-Rhyne's campus constituencies and levels of governance to:

  • Identify university information needs;
  • Collect, validate and analyze data for internal planning and assessment of institutional programs;
  • Provide accurate findings to university constituents;
  • Assist university and related partners regarding planning and assessment processes.

Common Data Set

The Common Data Set (CDS) initiative is a collaborative effort among data providers in the higher education community and publishers as represented by the College Board, Peterson's, and U.S. News & World Report. The combined goal of this collaboration is to improve the quality and accuracy of information provided to all involved in a student's transition into higher education.
