Fellowships & Awards support students in preparing competitive applications for prestigious, merit-based scholarships and fellowships. Regardless of the outcome, we are committed to helping students think deeply and critically about complex issues while providing a constructive space for reflection and imagination to help foster student engagement.

Signature Programs

Barry Goldwater Scholarship

  • Sophomores and juniors who intend to pursue research careers in the natural sciences, math or engineering
  • $7,500 annually towards an undergraduate degree
  • Medical students should intend to pursue a research career. Careers in the clinical field are not eligible
  • GPA: 3.8

LeaRN More

Benjamin A. Gillman International Scholarship

  • Up to $5000 to study or intern abroad. Critical Need Languages supplemental award up to $3000
  • Be an undergraduate student and be receiving a Federal Pell Grant
  • GPA: 2.5

  • Summer, semester, or year-long study in regions critical to US national security
  • Open to undergraduate students
  • Requires a one-year commitment to federal government employment after graduation. Intensive overseas language and cultural immersion programs
  • Undergraduate Scholarship GPA: 3.0

  • Funding to pursue international graduate study, research, or teaching English. Programs are worldwide
  • Benefits include airfare, room and board, and health insurance. Some countries include tuition coverage, language study, and books
  • Must have an undergraduate degree, and cannot yet hold a Ph.D

  • For college students who want to attend graduate school to prepare for careers in government or elsewhere in public service
  • Up to $30,000 for graduate or professional school, participate in leadership development activities and have special opportunities for internships and employment with the federal government
  • Extensive public service records, strong leadership potential, and committed to careers in government or public service
  • Must be a junior in the upper quarter of the class
  • GPA: 3.2
