Part-time Clinical Coordinator, Physician Assistant Program

Staff Position: Part-time, 12-month, part-time position in the College of Health Sciences supporting the clinical phase of the Physician Assistant Program
Position Summary
Lenoir-Rhyne University’s College of Health Sciences seeks applications for a part-time Clinical Coordinator for the Physician Assistant Program. Working under the functional direction of the Director of Clinical Education (DCE), the Clinical Coordinator provides focused administrative and operational support for the clinical phase, including rotation scheduling, clinical records, student onboarding and compliance, evaluation tracking and routine communication with students, preceptors and clinical sites. This part-time position is designed to support efficient clinical operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain clinical rotation schedules and track placement confirmations, changes and outstanding needs as directed by the DCE.
- Maintain current clinical site, preceptor and student records in designated clinical education systems.
- Coordinate and track student onboarding and compliance requirements, including site-specific documentation.
- Track required student and preceptor evaluations and follow up on missing or incomplete items.
- Communicate routine schedules, deadlines, onboarding requirements and documentation needs to students, preceptors and clinical sites.
- Provide administrative and logistical support for clinical callbacks, assessments, meetings and other clinical-year activities.
- Organize routine clinical documentation and data needed for program assessment, accreditation and continuous improvement.
- Identify scheduling, documentation or compliance concerns and promptly refer matters requiring faculty judgment to the DCE or appropriate clinical faculty.
- Collaborate with the DCE, Remote Clinical Faculty, Program Support Specialist and other program personnel to support effective clinical operations.

Required Qualifications
- Associate degree required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Strong organizational, communication, recordkeeping and time-management skills.
- Ability to manage confidential information and multiple deadlines with accuracy and professionalism.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software and willingness to learn clinical education and learning management systems.
- Ability to work independently, collaborate effectively and recognize issues requiring escalation to faculty or program leadership.
Preferred Qualifications
- Two or more years of administrative, health care, higher education, clinical education or related experience.
- Experience coordinating schedules, maintaining compliance documentation or managing records/data.
- Experience in a health care or health professions education environment.
- Familiarity with clinical education software, learning management systems or accreditation processes.
Work Schedule
This is a 12-month, 0.5 FTE position, generally equivalent to approximately 20 hours per week. The work schedule will be established in consultation with the PA Program based on clinical education operational needs and should include reasonable availability during business hours. Some flexibility in scheduling may be possible. Occasional evening, weekend, or clinical-site activity may be required.
