    Remote Instruction Continues  – Thursday-Friday, Jan. 29-30

    Remote instruction will continue on Thursday and Friday for Hickory and Asheville locations.

    This decision reflects our ongoing priority to support the safety of our community as weather conditions evolve across the region. By making a decision about Friday now, we aim to provide clarity and allow everyone to plan accordingly.

    Important reminders:

    • Faculty: Continue to communicate directly with students regarding course expectations.

    • Staff: Remain in contact with your supervisors regarding work arrangements.

Spanish Minor


Bilingual employees are heavily coveted in today’s job market. Enhance your degree with a minor in Spanish.

Study the second-most widely spoken language in the world and enhance the value of your degree. Our minor in Spanish teaches you to effectively communicate, both written and speaking. While learning the language, you will also gain an appreciation for the culture. An immersion experience abroad will round out your education, allowing you to fully utilize your knowledge of the language and ethos.

The Spanish minor also pairs well with majors in international business, politics, marketing, economics, entrepreneurship, education and more.

A minor in Spanish requires 18 hours consisting of the following:

    A minor in Spanish requires 18 credits; at least 6 credits at 200-level; 9 or 12 credits at 300-level; at least 3 of these credits must be completed in an immersion experience abroad.
