What Is the Suzuki Method?
In the Suzuki method, learning is broken down into a series of small steps, with mastery of each step essential before moving to the next level. Children learn music, just as they learn to speak, by imitating the teacher, absorbing the sound, tone, and musicality of the chosen instrument through listening to recordings of the music to be learned, and by practicing at home with parents.
The Suzuki method is more than just a musical training program. It is a whole philosophy about learning that is designed to nurture each child's personal abilities and to bolster feelings of self worth. The program has proven to be eminently successful, helping young people develop not only their musical ability but a sense of beauty in their hearts and excellence of character. Limited scholarship possibilities are available on a short-term basis if need is demonstrated and scholarship money is available.

Performance Opportunities
Performance opportunities abound and include solo recitals, play-ins, and opportunities for ensemble experiences. Summers bring the possibility of additional music choices including Suzuki camps and institutes offered all around the U. S. as well as summer instruction at Lenoir-Rhyne.
Students in the Kids in KoncertĀ® program have become leaders in school orchestras, accompanists for high school choruses, musicians in area churches. Some have gone on to major in music in colleges and universities.

Building Musicians, Building Confidence
Kids in Koncert provides a comprehensive approach to music education that meets students where they are. Whether following a structured Suzuki sequence or a more traditional path, students develop strong musical foundations through consistent, personalized instruction.
At the heart of the program is a positive and encouraging learning environment where students build confidence, discipline and creativity at their own pace. Through quality instruction and meaningful musical experiences, children and adults alike are empowered to grow as musicians while developing skills that extend far beyond the lesson studio.
We believe every student has the ability to learn and thrive. By fostering an atmosphere of respect, encouragement and individualized support, we help students reach their full potential while cultivating a lifelong appreciation for music and learning.
