Summer renovations enhance student spaces across campus

Summer means campus improvements and renovations, so this year Lenoir-Rhyne University is focused on residence halls and other student spaces in preparation for the fall semester.

Residence halls will see upgrades ranging from apartment kitchens and new furniture to roof, HVAC and moisture-control improvements. Additional work will enhance dining and athletic facilities.

"Our priority is investing in the spaces students use every day," said Jeremy Shreve, vice president for business and finance. "Whether it's residence halls, dining spaces or other areas across campus, we're focused on creating comfortable, functional environments that support the student experience."

A complete guide to this summer's campus improvement projects appears below:

• Cromer Center: Worn dining hall booths are being replaced to provide updated seating in one of the campus's busiest gathering spaces.
• Fritz-Conrad Halls: Student rooms are receiving all new furniture, while exterior brick sealant is being applied to improve moisture control and help preserve the buildings. A rooftop HVAC unit in Conrad is being replaced to improve climate control and system reliability.
• Morgan Hall: A new roof has been completed to protect the residence hall and prepare the building for student occupancy this fall.
• Price Village Apartments: Kitchens are being updated with full-size refrigerators and stove/oven units to provide residents with more complete meal preparation options.
• Shuford and Moretz Gym Complex: A new hot water system will improve service for student-athletes and others who use the facilities.
