Graduate Assistant, Soccer - Goalkeeper Coach


Location: Hickory, North Carolina

The graduate assistant goalkeeper coach of Division II men’s and women’s soccer programs will report to both the Head Men’s and Women’s Soccer Coaches. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

  1. Responsible for instruction and development of goalkeepers. 
  2. Leading goalkeeper training and game analysis. 
  3. Assist in all aspects of recruiting, coaching, and mentoring all student-athletes. 
  4. Assist in the planning of training sessions. 
  5. Assist head coaches in scouting. 
  6. Knowledge of and commitment to compliance with all NCAA, Conference, and University rules and regulations as well as dedication to the entire academic development of student-athletes are essential requirements. 
  7. Assists with all LRU Men’s and Women’s Soccer clinics and camps as assigned by head coaches. 
  8. Assists with marketing and promotion of camps and clinics. 
  9. Other duties as assigned by the head coaches and athletic administration. 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree. 
  • Must enroll in a graduate program at Lenoir-Rhyne University. 
  • Prior experience in training goalkeepers.
  • Playing experience as a goalkeeper at the collegiate or professional level is preferred. 
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills. 
  • Ability to multi-task and work within a team environment. 

Job Compensation

  • Tuition remission: 15 credit hours per year (6 Fall, 6 Spring, and 3 Summer).
  • Stipend: $5,000 over ten months.
  • Meal plan: 10 meals per week in the University cafeteria
  • Housing: On-campus housing.
