Lenoir-Rhyne Tuition-Free Guarantee

College made affordable for North and South Carolina families.

At Lenoir-Rhyne, we believe cost should never stand in the way of a world-class education. That’s why we have launched the Lenoir-Rhyne Tuition-Free Guarantee, a bold initiative that covers 100 percent of undergraduate tuition for eligible students.

Beginning fall 2026, new first-year and transfer students from North and South Carolina with a family adjusted gross income (AGI) of $100,000 or less will have their tuition fully covered for up to four years (eight semesters). This award is provided entirely through scholarships and grants — student and parent loans are not packaged or included as part of the guarantee.

This program reflects LR’s commitment to support students and families, expand access and invest in future leaders who will serve and shape our communities.

The Lenoir-Rhyne Tuition-Free Guarantee covers 100 percent of tuition for new first-year and transfer students from North and South Carolina with a family income of $100K or less, beginning fall 2026.

Eligibility at a Glance

To qualify for the Lenoir-Rhyne Guarantee, students must:

  • Be a first-year or transfer undergraduate admitted to Lenoir-Rhyne.
  • Be a resident of North or South Carolina.
  • Have a family adjusted gross income (AGI) of $100,000 or less as determined by the FAFSA.
  • Enroll full time in a traditional undergraduate program. 

Not Eligible

    Current LR students. Students currently enrolled at LR continue to receive the financial aid awards they were promised at the time of enrollment. Returning students continue to benefit from our strong commitment to need-based financial aid.

  • High School Scholars Academy students
  • University Christian High School students enrolled at LR as dual-enrolled students
  • Graduate students
