  • MBA, Wake Forest University
  • B.A., Business Administration, Lenoir-Rhyne University

John Andrews is the Alex Lee Professor of Business and assistant teaching professor at Lenoir-Rhyne. He teaches marketing, professional selling and entrepreneurship, helping students bridge strategy and execution through live consulting projects, experiential learning and applied artificial intelligence tools. His courses are designed to mirror real-world decision environments, where judgment, adaptability and disciplined execution matter.

Before returning to Lenoir-Rhyne, Andrews built his career at the intersection of retail innovation, brand transformation and digital commerce. He has held senior leadership roles with Fortune 500 companies including Walmart and Ricoh USA, and he co-founded Collective Bias, one of the early retail media platforms, later acquired by Inmar. He also served as president of Photofy, where he led the company’s transition from a consumer app to a scalable B2B content platform.

Andrews is the co-author of "Retail Relevancy" and "The Agile Code," which explore how retailers and brands must adapt to technological disruption, evolving consumer behavior and competitive pressure. His professional focus includes go-to-market strategy, sales system design, retail media evolution and AI-enabled commerce.

At Lenoir-Rhyne, Andrews is committed to strengthening the connection between the classroom and the marketplace. He works closely with regional employers and national brands to create opportunities for students to solve real business problems. He believes business education should be experiential, forward-looking and grounded in practical application.

Outside the university, Andrews serves as a strategic advisor to growth-stage companies and established brands, helping organizations design adaptive systems and build durable competitive advantage.
