American Studies Minor

If you are interested in history and enjoy thinking about the social and ideological aspects of our culture, a minor in American Studies will allow you to understand how we fit into the global society.

American Studies is a broad curriculum, through which you examine how our society, identity and communities have shaped our nation. You will expand your knowledge of literature, economics, history, political science and more.

With a requirement of just 18 credit hours, the American Studies minor can supplement many programs of study. Many students find the minor to be especially complimentary for majors in social sciences, natural sciences and humanities, such as economics, psychology, criminal justice, environmental health, English and history.
