Alumni association welcomes new and returning directors

The Lenoir-Rhyne University Alumni Association welcomed six returning members to its Board of Directors in 2025, along with one new member, all of whom were approved on June 1. Each of these members will serve through May 31, 2028.

“Our board members are some of LR’s biggest cheerleaders,” said Mary Ellen Sherrill ’10, director of alumni and donor engagement. “They show up, give back and genuinely care about making a difference for current and future Bears. I’m excited to see the impact this group will make in the coming years.”

The returning directors originally joined the board in 2022 and have now commenced their second term: Omar Bell ’98, Laura Dytrt Clark ’18, Cassandra Rawls ’80, Ben Stacke ’99, Jamie Treadaway ’92 and David Young ’93, M.Div. ’97.

Joining the board for her first term, Tracy Hamlin ’86 serves as customer service and shipping manager for Regency Fibers, LLC, a Hickory-based manufacturer of textiles for home furnishings. During her time at Lenoir-Rhyne, Hamlin majored in vocal performance and was active in the choir and LR Playmakers—always ready to lend her voice wherever needed. She also hosted a classical music show on the campus radio station, WLRZ, and was a proud sister of Sigma Kappa. Her enthusiasm for LR and her community hasn’t faded since graduation, and she’s eager to contribute in any way she can.

“I believe graduates of any college or university have an obligation to give back in whatever ways they are able,” Hamlin said. “Some of us can do it financially. Some of us can dedicate time. Some can give multiple resources. Who we are today is a testament to how LR shaped us. It’s a privilege to support LR right back.”
