• University Storm Recovery Updates

    UPDATE: Tuesday, Oct. 29, 8:30 a.m.
We are pleased to announce that Wi-Fi service has been restored to the Asheville Center. Current students, faculty, and staff may now access the building for study, work or other necessary activities. Please note there may be occasional short outages as our service provider continues the recovery process.

Drinking water is not available in the building. Some bottled water is available on site, but we encourage anyone using the building to bring their own drinking water if possible. The bathrooms on site now have working toilets.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we navigate the challenges posed by Hurricane Helene. Please stay tuned for further updates.

  • International Graduate Student Application

This information applies to international degree-seeking students only International (F1 visa holders).

As an international student, LR must receive your application form and all your required supporting documents:

    1. Graduate Application, which includes a $35 (U.S.) non-refundable application fee. You must submit the Application for your desired program plus the supplemental application materials in order to complete this part of the application process. See specific program requirements.
    2. Official transcripts from each college or university attended, which have been translated into English and evaluated into a course-by-course report by an approved credential evaluation agency.
    3. Completed Certificate of Finance certified by a bank official, attorney or notary public.
    4. Proof of English proficiency if your native language is not English. The preferred method of proof is an official score report from the TOEFL or the IELTS. You must have a minimum TOEFL score of 550 on the paper-based version, 213 on the computer-based version or 79 on the internet-based version. The minimum IELTS score is 6.5.

The following may also be submitted to verify English language proficiency depending on the program of interest:

    • For admission to Lenoir-Rhyne, the minimum GMAT score is 450; the minimum MAT score is 390; and the minimum GRE scores are Verbal 147, Quantitative 147 and Analytical Writing 3.5.
    • Completion of a college-level English composition or other reading-intensive courses with a “B” or equivalent at a regionally accredited U.S. college or university or a non-U.S. college or university where instruction is in English.
    • An official transcript showing completion of an Associate of Arts, Associate of Science or a higher degree from a regionally accredited U.S. college or university or a non-U.S. college or university where instruction is in English.

If you do not meet the above minimum English-proficiency criteria, the following options are available:

    • Complete the iTEP English proficiency exam administered by Lenoir-Rhyne’s partner program, the American Language Academy and attain a minimum score of 3.9.
    • Enroll in and complete an accredited English language program, such as the American Language Academy Program, before attending Lenoir-Rhyne. After completing level 5 of the American Language Academy program, you will be recognized as English proficient. Other accredited English Language Proficiency Programs will be accepted as well, as long as you complete a program through the certified level deemed English proficient.

Suppose you do not meet any of the minimum criteria above. In that case, you may request an appeal and if granted, may participate in a Zoom video interview to be used as an additional evaluation tool to determine English proficiency. Please note that the findings of this interview are used in conjunction with all other above materials.

    International Graduate Student Enrollment Guidelines

After you have submitted your application, LR will send an offer of admission via email, if accepted.

To confirm your enrollment, you submit an enrollment deposit. This enrollment deposit is paid online and applied to tuition. An I-20 form will be forwarded to you.
