Wesley Reid is an assistant professor and director of the physician assistant studies program at Lenoir-Rhyne University. He is responsible for oversight of the entire PA program. He served on the physician assistant studies program advisory board during its initial planning stages and joined the faculty at Lenoir-Rhyne University in October 2015.   

He was an ER nurse before becoming a PA in 2001 and has practiced as a physician assistant in cardiology, family practice and internal medicine for more than 20 years. His scholarly interests include student success and program evaluation.    

Reid is a certified PA through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants and is licensed by the North Carolina Medical Board. He has participated in both local and state physician assistant organizations. He is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the Physician Assistant Education Association. He loves the outdoors and enjoys spending time with his family and dogs.
