Terry Phillips

Terry Phillips is the director of multicultural affairs at Lenoir-Rhyne University since 2021. In his position, Phillips provides leadership and expertise in developing and coordinating internal and external programs that promote multicultural education for the campus community. He also advocates for equity, diversity and inclusion by facilitating opportunities for conversations, educational programming and personal growth.

Previously, Phillips served as the coordinator of engagement, persistence, retention and completion at Davidson-Davie Community College. In addition, he was the student engagement and completion coach for two years. Prior to Davidson-Davie, he spent four years as the assistant director for freshmen admission and NC Gear Up Coordinator at his alma mater Winston-Salem State University.

He is an author with books titled The Third Dig, Learning What Works and an accompanying handbook, as well as a third book Unfathered, the Compilation.
