Melissa Di Natale is an associate professor of nursing at Lenoir-Rhyne, where she has served since 2018. As an educator, Di Natale is passionate about motivating and engaging students while fostering a supportive and positive learning environment. 

Her doctoral research focused on incivility within the student nursing experience, retention among registered nurses and employment choices. This research influenced curriculum development and provided students with a platform to discuss and address incivility, leading to enhanced student engagement and improved student morale.

In addition to her academic role, Di Natale is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) dedicated to advancing mental health education and patient care. Her professional interests include nursing education, student success, psychiatric mental health, leadership and workforce development within nursing.
