Hank Weddington

Hank Weddington has served as dean of the College of Education and Human Services at Lenoir-Rhyne University since 2011. He is also an associate professor of education for the School of Education. Weddington has also served as president for the North Carolina Association of Colleges and Teacher Educators, an organization that advocates for and supports K-12 teachers and teacher educators.    

Prior to joining Lenoir-Rhyne, Weddington served as associate dean for academic programs and director of professional experiences at the University of North Carolina, Wilmington. Before entering higher education, Weddington was a teacher in North Carolinas's public schools, serving students with behavioral and emotional disabilities.    

Under his leadership, Lenoir-Rhyne University's elementary education program has been named among only 33 in the country to earn an A for the quality of the clinical practice provided to aspiring teachers.
