Playmakers to open season with Circle Mirror Transformation

The Lenoir-Rhyne University Playmakers will kick off their 2015-16 season with a production of Annie Baker’s award-winning drama, Circle Mirror Transformation. The play will be performed at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday, October 14 – 17, and 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, October 18 in P.E. Monroe Auditorium.

The play focuses on four characters who enroll in a six-week-long adult acting class at a community center in small-town Vermont. As the students and instructor experiment with seemingly harmless theatre games and exercises, bonds are formed and broken, stories are shared, and wounds are uncovered. Through their work together, the characters face personal challenges and make discoveries that will change them forever.
