Visiting Artist in Technical Direction/Scenic & Lighting Design
The Lenoir-Rhyne University College of Fine Arts and Communication (Hickory Campus) invites applications for an immediate opening in a one-year position as a Visiting Artist in Technical Direction/Scenic & Lighting Design. Position will remain open until filled.
The successful candidate will design and implement technical elements for three shows in our production season; maintain shop areas and execute construction; mentor student designers; and train and supervise student production crews. The ideal candidate will have a broad knowledge of technical theatre and design, strong leadership, work ethic, and organizational skills; ability to track budgets effectively/efficiently; knowledge of and experience maintaining safety standards per OSHA; excellent communication and creative problem-solving.
- MA or MFA in Theatre Technology, Design, or a related field
- Experience teaching technical theatre at the college level
