Database Assistant


The database assistant supports development officers and actively contributes to the success of the university’s fundraising and engagement goals. The position creates and executes queries of the database, develops and maintains reports and dashboards, supports prospect research, assists with gift entry and helps maintain the overall accuracy and confidentiality of records.

Description of Duties and Tasks

  • Creates queries and reports
  • Proactively maintains the integrity and quality of records in the database
  • Authors and maintains documentation of business practices
  • Assists with gift entry
  • Supports the production of communications and mailings
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities

  • Highly logical and analytical approach to problem-solving
  • Detail oriented with a critical degree of accuracy regarding data entry and analysis
  • Proficient use of customer relations management databases such as Raiser’s Edge (preferred), SalesForce or other CRM
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office applications such as Excel and Word, advanced spreadsheet skills desirable
  • Prior relevant experience in a nonprofit fundraising setting preferred
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Team player with strong time management and organization skills with ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Ability to use discretion and sensitivity in handling highly confidential donor information
  • Ability to think creatively to solve problems or improve processes and efficiency
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required.

Wage Class: Hourly, Non-exempt, Full-time
