CROSS-COUNTRY RUNNER COMPETES AT NATIONALS

Senior cross-country runner Domtila Kiplagat represented Lenoir-Rhyne on the national stage in December as she ran a cold and wet 6K course in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, during the NCAA Division II Cross-Country Championships. 

Kiplagat, a Kenya native, was the South Atlantic Conference Runner of the Year and qualified for nationals by winning the individual first place title at the conference meet. In a field of 264 of the best runners in all of Division II, Kiplagat finished 82nd. 

Kiplagat's time of 24:17.2 in her final collegiate race placed her in the top third of the most competitive field she has faced.
