Reunion Classes of 1970 and 1971

COVID updates: Lenoir-Rhyne University is committed to providing a safe environment for everyone and will follow state and local guidelines for COVID safety for our events. As of Aug. 27, we are planning to hold our Reunion events as outlined here. There is currently a mask requirement in place on campus. Everyone, regardless of vaccination status, must wear a mask inside. People who are not vaccinated also should wear a mask outside. We will continue to monitor the situation to ensure that events can be held safely and will post any updates here.

Reunion Weekend Schedule 

Friday, Oct. 8, 2021
Class of 1970  and 1971 Reunion Celebration | 6 p.m.
Bears Club Pavilion
The planning committees understand that many of their classmates may have concerns about gathering in person. As a result, the 1970 and 1971 reunion planning committees have decided to hold a joint 50th reunion celebration in the Bears Club Pavilion. This open-air, spacious venue will provide plenty of opportunities for outdoor dining, mingling, and adequate air movement.

The evening will begin with a cocktail hour with light appetizers and drinks. A buffet dinner will be served at 7:30 p.m. This event is sure to take alumni back to their college years and help relive all their favorite memories! $40 per person includes, light appetizers, buffet dinner, and dessert. A cash bar will be available. Registration required.

Saturday, Oct. 9, 2021
Building Tour | 10 a.m.
Alex and Lee George Hall

A lot has changed on campus since the early 1970s. Alumni and their guests are invited to get an inside look at the new Alex and Lee George Hall that was completed in late 2017 and houses the School of Natural Sciences. Anyone wishing to take part in the tour should meet in front of Alex and Lee George Hall, across from Fritz Conrad. The tour will begin promptly at 10 a.m. No registration required.

50th Reunion Tailgate Lunch | 11:30-1 p.m.
Fritz Conrad Back Patio

Continue your reunion celebration with a joint 50th reunion lunch with the classes of 1970 and 1971. This special event will take place on the newly renovated Fritz Conrad back patio and include a complimentary tailgate style lunch before the home football game. Drop in anytime between 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. Registration required.

Football Game vs. Tusculum | 1 p.m.
Moretz Stadium

Cheer on the Bears at the home football game against the Tusculum Pioneers. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased online or at the gate the day of the game.

Reunion Classes of 1980 and 1981

The classes of 1980 and 1981 will celebrate their 40th class reunion with a joint reunion celebration the weekend of Oct. 22-23, 2021. Both classes with gather together on the Hickory campus for a reunion dinner on Friday, Oct. 22.

This is also Homecoming weekend so Saturday will bring more opportunities to reconnect with classmates. Enjoy the annual Homecoming parade, reserved tables at the alumni tailgate, and home football game against Limestone.

Reunion Classes of 1995 and 1996

The classes of 1995 and 1996 will celebrate their 25th class reunion the weekend of Oct. 22-23, 2021. This is also Homecoming weekend so there will be many opportunities to reconnect with your classmates. Enjoy reserved tables for your classes at the Friday night kick-off event.

Saturday brings the traditional Homecoming events like the parade, alumni tailgate, and home football game against Limestone. Each class will have their own reunion dinner on Saturday evening.
