The 32nd Annual Hanley H. Painter Bear Memorial Golf Tournament
LHCC Catawba Springs
Start off your Homecoming weekend and show your support for LR at the annual Hanley H. Painter Memorial Golf Tournament. Bring your own foursome or we'll add you to one. The event is at Lake Hickory Country Club (Catawba Springs), and tee times are 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. All proceeds benefit LR Athletics. 19th Annual Bears Club Homecoming Auction
7 p.m. | Shuford Gymnasium
Join us for the 2020 Bears Club Homecoming Auction. This year, the auction will be held in Shuford Gymnasium on the campus of LR. Tickets are $40 per person. Young alumni who have graduated in the years 2000-2020 can purchase a ticket for $20. All ticket purchases and auction proceeds will benefit LR Athletics scholarships. Homecoming Kickoff Party
6-8 p.m. | Blowing Rock Draft House
What better way to start your Homecoming weekend than with fellow alumni, food, and drinks? Join us at Blowing Rock Draft House for the annual Homecoming Kickoff Party. There will be free appetizers and a cash bar available. This event is free, however, registration is requested.
Class of 1980 40th Class Reunion Dinner
6-9 p.m. | University Commons
Hop in the car, crank up the Bee Gees, and make your way to Hickory for your 40th reunion dinner in the new University Commons on the campus of LR. The night will feature a buffet dinner, an opportunity to reconnect with classmates, and lots of laughter. You’ll have to spend more than $1 for a gallon of gas, but it will be worth it! $30 per person includes hors d’oeuvres, buffet dinner, and dessert. A cash bar will be available. Registration is required.

Bring the whole family and start your busy day with a good breakfast in the Cromer Cafeteria, payable at the door.

Don’t miss one of LR’s famous Homecoming traditions, the parade! Bring your friends and family and line Stasavich Place to watch the band, athletes, fancy cars, and parade floats pass by showing their LR spirit. Make sure to cheer and show your support for the Bears!
Sports Hall of Fame Ceremony
11 a.m. | PE Monroe Auditorium
Join fellow alumni in PE Monroe to celebrate and honor the 2020 inductees of the Sports Hall of Fame. This year, Lenoir-Rhyne will welcome 5 new inductees. Mike Houston, former football coach, and Smith Sharpe ’88 represent football. Jeff Haddock ’94 and Amber Holt Collier ’10 represent basketball. Finally, Brittany Cherry ’10 represents women’s softball. This event is free, but registration is requested.
Annual Homecoming Tailgate
11:30 a.m.- 1 p.m. | Shaw Plaza
Alumni and their families are invited to a Homecoming tailgate of hamburgers, hotdogs, and all the fixings! Sponsored by the Office of Alumni Engagement, attendees will enjoy a free lunch by Windy City Grill, formally known as Homer’s, owned by Bo Starnes ’75. There will be games, face painting, and a balloon artist! The tailgate lunch is free, however, registration is required.
Homecoming Football Game vs. Tusculum Pioneers
2 p.m. | Moretz Stadium
Cheer on the Bears as they take on the Pioneers from Tusculum! Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under. You can purchase tickets at the gate or online at lrbears.com. See you Between the Bricks!
Class of 1995 25th Class Reunion Dinner
6:30-9:30 p.m. | Market on Main
Get ready to listen to the ultimate ’90s music playlist at the Class of 1995 reunion dinner. TLC, Aerosmith, and Sir Mix-A-Lot are sure to make this list. There will be plenty of time to socialize and reconnect with your classmates over dinner and drinks at Market on Main in Downtown Hickory. $30 per person includes hors d’oeuvres, buffet dinner, and dessert. A cash bar will be available. Registration is required.
