  • 2017

ADRIANNA NICOLE ROWLAND ’17 married Jacob Tanner Harrs on Aug. 4, 2018, at the Doc Watson Stage at Wilkes Community College. Rowland graduated with a bachelor of science degree in nursing and is currently pursuing a doctorate degree of nursing practice as a family nurse practitioner at LR. She is currently a registered nurse in the intensive care unit at Timpanogos Regional Hospital in Orem, Utah.

JOSEPH BATIANO ’08 received the 2018 Rhode Island School Counselor of the Year award from the Rhode Island School Counselors Association (RISCA). He has been a school counselor for Rhode Island School for the Deaf since 2012.

DOMINIQUE MORGAN ’05 received a certificate in business administration with a focus on customer service from Wake Technical Community College. He is now working on a business administration marketing associates degree and aims to pursue a bachelor’s degree in business administration.

DOUGLAS STEWART ’00 was named Executive Director of Hickory Downtown Development Association. Stewart spent 15 years in Washington, D.C., working with Lutheran College Washington Semester, an internship program for higher education students, where he advanced to Director of Operations and Communication.

LAURA SEDLACEK,  author of “The Glass River,” a mystery novel set in Caldwell County, North Carolina, was nominated for the 2018 Thomas Wolfe Memorial Literary Award. Sedlacek wrote the novel under the name LB Sedlacek.
