Lenoir-Rhyne University adds new graduate program

A Master of Arts in Religious Leadership has been announced as the newest degree offered at Lenoir-Rhyne University.

There are over 30 graduate programs available between the University's three campus locations including Hickory and Asheville, N.C., and Columbia, S.C. The Religious Leadership program is offered fully online and is specifically designed for those who seek theological and scriptural background for their work.

"We are very excited to offer the Master of Arts in Religious Leadership program which will prepare graduates to work in many settings across non-profit, church, and business sectors," said Leslie Lambert, PhD., interim provost. "The fully online program of study is designed to appeal to individuals with a keen interest in religious studies with special emphasis in leadership development."

Students who enroll in the program from traditional ministry settings will gain practical leadership knowledge and a skill set that goes beyond knowledge acquired from a seminary degree program. Those working in other types of organizations and agencies will acquire fluency in scripture and theology while also developing leadership skills.

"This program is a great fit for people who seek to develop their leadership skills for careers in religious settings or other settings where they interact regularly with people of faith," said David Ratke, PhD., Dean of the College of Theology. "The program was formed through a natural partnership between two colleges at Lenoir-Rhyne, both of which prepare women and men for a variety of careers serving others and society."

The Religious Leadership program is designed with the working adult in mind. It is offered in a fully online format, allowing students to enroll from anywhere in the world. As a non-cohort program, students can complete the curriculum at their own pace – full-time or part-time. Although delivered online, full-time faculty are available to provide students the ability to videoconference when needed.
