Lenoir-Rhyne University is excited to announce the implementation of its new interactive campus map, an online tool that gives visitors the ability to explore the University's campus in a highly detailed, virtual format.
"We are seeing an increased number of out-of-state visitors on campus and wanted to provide a helpful and meaningful tool they can use to navigate while visiting Lenoir-Rhyne," said Bradleigh Uthe, director of undergraduate admission. "There has also been an increase in conferences, athletic events, and musical performances happening at Lenoir-Rhyne which require correct representation of campus."
The map utilizes advanced technology to give users an in-depth visual experience with features like, the self-guided walking tour, 360 degree panoramic images of essential locations, and photographs and descriptions of buildings. While on campus, visitors can take advantage of these features by viewing them on their smartphones or use the map on LR's website to plan a trip ahead of time.
This new satellite system also gives administration the ability to control and change the functionality and aesthetics of the map, which will help accommodate the growing student population and campus expansion. Students, faculty, and staff can view real-time changes like, construction detours, building modifications, and street closings.
