Special Topics

At different times throughout the year, LREDI offers special topics courses covering subject matter that is relevant to equity, diversity and inclusion. Special Topics courses can be applied to any of the three elective concentration areas.

Courses

ST01: Equity & Health Care

4 Hours | $399
Health equity is achieved when every person has the opportunity to attain his or her full health potential, and is not prevented from achieving this potential because of social position or other socially determined circumstances. This course allows participants to learn about the underlying causes of health inequity through a series of individual and small-group activities and class discussion. Participants will discuss inequities and biases that lead to disparities in health care systems. Students will gain practical strategies for eliminating biases within the workplace using the tenets of cultural humility.
