The Lenoir-Rhyne Equity and Diversity Institute (LREDI) supports, inspires, and equips executives, non-profit leaders, educators, students, social activists and other community members who intend to spark change and cultivate better communities through their professional careers.
LREDI concentrations and courses focus on equitable strategies and practices that can be applied to the professional fields of business, education, and technology, as well as to general community advocacy.
Register for Fall 2023 Semester Courses
Register now for LREDI courses offered Septmber-November 2023 (view our course schedule). All courses are offered online and fill up quickly so don't delay. Enroll online for any of our courses or concentrations. Pay by credit card, check or request to have your business or organization directly invoiced. Payment must be received in full before the start of each course.
LREDI is an approved continuing education credit provider for the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM), North Carolina State Bar and Northwest AHEC. Learn more about continuing professional education credits.
Complete Individual Classes or a Certificate
LREDI classes can be taken as stand-alone courses, or as a suite to yield an Equitable Leadership Certificate. To complete the full certificate, participants must complete four Equitable Foundation Leadership courses and three courses in one of the Concentration Areas (Equitable Education Practices, Equitable Business Practices or Equitable Technology Practices).
All course materials are distributed during class or available online via our online learning environment. These materials are included in the price of tuition.

Equitable Education Practices Concentration
Our culturally competent curriculum equips participants with strategies, tools, and practices to expose traditionally biased systems and close gaps within academia.
Through asset creation labs, the equitable education concentration provides teachers, teaching assistants, principals, school board leaders and paraprofessionals with strategies specific to building equitable learning environments and improving academic success.

Equitable Business Practices Concentration
Our culturally competent curriculum equips business professionals with strategies, tools, and practices to expose traditionally biased systems and close gaps within the economic sector.
Through asset building labs, the equitable business concentration provides small business owners, entrepreneurs, marketing professionals and human resource managers with strategies to cultivate inclusive, equitable economic spaces that close gaps in employment and entrepreneurship.

Equitable Technology Practices Concentration
This concentration equips communicators with strategies, tools and practices to expose traditionally biased systems and close gaps within media and communication sectors.
The equitable communication concentration provides strategies specific to building equitable environments and inclusive cultures.

Special Topics
At different times throughout the year, LREDI offers special topics courses covering subject matter that is relevant to equity, diversity and inclusion.
Special topics courses can be applied to any of the three elective concentration areas.

Equitable Leadership Certificate
To complete a full Equitable Leadership Certificate, participants must enroll in each of the four Equitable Foundation Leadership courses, and then choose three of the courses in one of the Concentration Areas (Equitable Education Practices, Equitable Business Practices or Equitable Technology Practices).
