Vickie L. Bradley, MPH, BSN, RN, is the secretary of Public Health and Human Services for the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians. She chose to pursue her Master of Public Health degree at Lenoir-Rhyne University's Asheville Center because the program's hybrid model allowed her to complete coursework both in class and online.
"I chose Lenoir-Rhyne because the Master of Public Health program was marketed toward the working professional and that really appealed to me. The coursework was intense and time-demanding; however, it was manageable because classes were held during the evening and on-line."
Bradley also feels the MPH degree she received through LR helped her gain insights for enhancing her current career.
"The MPH curriculum ensured that I have the public health competencies necessary to confidently manage a public health system. The program helped me to assess, design, and modify our Public Health and Human Service system at the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians to align with best-practices. Additionally, the courses allowed ample discussion and brainstorming about existing work scenarios."
