Susy Chandler is the director of community engagement for Lenoir-Rhyne University’s Asheville Center since 2017. Chandler manages the LR Partner tuition discount benefit program for all campuses, as well as graduate enrollment data and analytics and communications. In her role, she carries out the college’s community engagement by nurturing relationships to create meaningful learning opportunities for graduate students while supporting the needs of organizations in our campus communities. In addition, she has served Lenoir-Rhyne in civic roles as a commissioner on the Human Relations Commission of Asheville, member of the Women’s Commission of Buncombe County, board member of Big Brothers Big Sisters of WNC and finance committee member of the YWCA of WNC.
In 2019, Chandler was presented the Presidential Parachute Award, designated by the president to recognize exceptional efforts. She was honored for her initiative to reach out to business partners to increase enrollment at the Asheville campus.
