Rachel Nichols

Rachel Nichols serves as vice president for enrollment management at Lenoir-Rhyne. She began working at the college as an enrollment counselor in 1990. She was named assistant director of admissions in 1993 and associate director the following year. In addition, Nichols served as interim director of financial aid for one year. In 2000, she became director of admissions and financial aid, and in 2002 was named dean of admissions and financial aid. She was promoted to her current position in June 2006.

In her current role, Nichols oversees undergraduate admission, financial aid and academic records. Under her leadership, LR had 11 consecutive years of enrollment growth.

Nichols is a member of the LR Servus Universitas Society. She was inaugurated in 2016 as a notable way of honoring employees who have dedicated the better part of their lives to serve the mission of LR and make it a better place for those who come after them. To be a member of this society, a Lenoir-Rhyne employee must reach at least 25 years of continuous, full-time service. Of literally thousands of individuals who have been employed by the university, fewer than 150 have reached this milestone.
