Jessica Hare

Jessica Hare joined the faculty at Lenoir-Rhyne University in 2022. She is an assistant professor and graduate program coordinator. In addition, she works with a non-profit organization that advocates to pass the next amendment to the U.S. Constitution which will remove big money from politics. As a social worker, writer, public speaker, and educator, Hare has more than 15 years of experience in the social work profession including political social work.

Her research interest are ending domestic violence and family violence in rural communities and social work in politics. She wrote and published an article that can be found on socialworktoday.com on how the time is now for more political social work. Hare has proven to be committed to the empowerment of black women and girls while advocating on their behalf to promote leadership development and gender equity in the areas of health, education, and economic empowerment. She also volunteers as a designated speaker for the Domestic Violence Speaker’s Bureau and has been chosen as the keynote speaker for many domestic violence events. Hare is an active member of the National Association of Social Workers serving the Georgia Chapter and is a member of the Political Action for Candidate Election (PACE) committee.

Hare currently resides in Atlanta, Georgia, where she enjoys time with her children and family friends.
