Jeremy Zalacca

Jeremy Zalacca is the associate athletic director for athletic communications at Lenoir-Rhyne. After joining the team in August 2018, he was promoted in 2020 to his current role.

Zalacca and his staff were named South Atlantic Conference Athletic Communications Department of the Year for the 2020-21 season. In addition, the department set a record with 10 College Sports Information Directors of America Awards for Excellence in Publications. His women's lacrosse media guide was named the best in the nation. Additionally, Zalacca's game notes for men's basketball were named the second-best in the nation.

In his role, Zalacca oversees the Bears social media, website maintenance, statistics and awards for all student-athletes, press releases, media relations, photography, graphic design, live broadcasts and all digital and creative content produced at LR. 

During his time, LR led the conference in viewership of live broadcasts with more than 66,000 viewers during the 2019-20 season. In addition, Zalacca helped completely overhaul the live broadcast of events to include replays, in-game interviews, multiple camera angles and enhanced broadcast talent. Zalacca completely re-designed the Lenoir-Rhyne Athletics website over the summer of 2020 and updated and enhanced all Lenoir-Rhyne record books. 

Zalacca has helped improve the graphic design and photography as well as the social media presence of the department and its teams. In addition, he has helped garner multiple awards for student-athletes. Zalacca has also produced game notes for basketball, lacrosse, softball and baseball for the first time in department history and also created media guides for non-football programs for the first time since 2007.

In his tenure, the athletic communications department staff has doubled.

Zalacca has served on the SAC championship committee, the D2SIDA men's basketball regional rankings committee and the D2CCA women's basketball all-region selection committee.

Prior to joining the LR staff, Zalacca spent five years as the sports information director at Pfeiffer University. He was promoted to assistant athletic director for athletic communications after 18 months with the Falcons. In addition, Zalacca created YouTube and Instagram pages for the department.
