Colby Hunter


Colby Hunter joined Lenoir-Rhyne's coaching staff as the quarterback's coach in 2021. He joined the Bears offensive staff during the abbreviated season in the spring. During this time, Grayson Willingham set a career-high in passing yards with 353 in the South Atlantic Conference Championship against Tusculum. 

Prior to his arrival at LR, Hunter was a QB and offensive operations coach from 2020-21 at College of Sequoias in Visalia, California.

Before moving to that position, Colby coached high school football for 10 years, starting his career in 2009 at Central High School in Fresno, California. He spent the majority of his  time at San Joaquin Memorial as the offensive coordinator/QB coach. As the offensive coordinator, SJM was able to break numerous records offensively and competed for a state championship in multiple years. In 2018, SJM won the section championship and Northern California regional before heading to the state championships.

In 2004, the Clovis, California, native moved to Southern California to continue playing football at Citrus College before beginning his coaching career.
