Stephanie Stadden

Stephanie Stadden began working at Lenoir-Rhyne in 2007. In addition to her teaching responsibilities, she currently serves as chair of the School of Health, Exercise and Sport Science, and athletic trainer. In addition, Stadden regularly teaches undergraduate and graduate courses addressing sport and exercise psychology.

Prior to coming to LR, Stadden worked as an assistant athletic trainer and instructor at NCAA Division III and NAIA institutions, providing high school outreach services and physical therapy aide in the outpatient physical therapy setting.

Stadden has presented at regional and national professional conferences with her original research examining topics related to the psychology of injury and psychological skills used for peak performance. She also consults with student-athletes regarding mental performance in sport and returns to sport following injury.

In 2020, she received the Roediger Distinguished Service Professorship, designated annually by the president to recognize distinguished service to the university, profession and community.
