Christmas morning came early this year for Christin Collie, a junior at Lenoir-Rhyne University. Her gift came in the form of an email notifying her that she will be at the heart of the world famous solar calendar and tomb, Newgrange in Ireland to experience the Winter Solstice.
Lenoir-Rhyne University will dedicate its beautiful new seven-foot Schimmel grand performance piano in Grace Chapel on Friday, November 7 at 7:30 p.m.
Julie and John Cheek, pianists, will present a program of music for one piano, four hands. Highlights of the program include an arrangement of Stravinsky’s colorful and lively Petrushka. This recital is part of Grace Chapel’s three-part dedication series and promises to be a wonderful evening of inspiring music.
