Lenoir-Rhyne University alumna, Danielle Stilwell (maiden name, Danielle Mull), was recently selected as one of the Top 10 Hickory Young Professionals under 40 years of age. The Hickory Young Professionals organization, in partnership with the Catawba Chamber of Commerce, solicits nominations annually for this honor which recognizes the accomplishments and contributions of local professionals.
The Lenoir-Rhyne University A Cappella Choir is honored to have been selected to perform as part of the installation of the 78th Bishop of the North Carolina Lutheran Synod of the Evangelical Church in America (ELCA). The installation service for The Reverend Doctor Timothy Marcus Smith is scheduled for Saturday, September 12 at the Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church in Charlotte. The A Cappella Choir will perform the prelude beginning at 3:30 p.m., preceding the 4:00 p.m. service.
All Lenoir-Rhyne University Bears fans should mark their calendars for Thursday, September 3. The first football game of the season will be broadcast live on ESPN3 at 6 p.m. (Eastern Daylight Time).
The LR Bears will take on the Golden Rams of West Chester University at their field in West Chester, PA. Both teams are ranked nationally by the NCAA Division II; Lenoir-Rhyne is ranked No. 10 and West Chester, No. 23. The teams went head-head in a national semifinal game two years ago in which the Bears defeated the Rams at home (42-14) – a victory that propelled the team to the championship game of 2013.
