LRU Concert Series presents Kruger Brothers with Kontras Quartet

The Lenoir-Rhyne University Concert Series is proud to present a performance by the Kruger Brothers and the Kontras Quartet on Sunday, March 29 at 3:00 p.m. in P.E. Monroe Auditorium. Tickets are $20 and are available at Tickets can be printed online or can be picked up at the P.E. Monroe Auditorium Box Office, Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m.

Besides their considerable renown worldwide, both the Kruger Brothers and Kontras Quartet are well-known and loved by our community. Together they bring a powerful combination of artistry and talent, creating a musical experience that redefines contemporary concert culture. The concert will feature original compositions for the ensemble by Jens Kruger.

LRU Concert Series presents The Cleveland Duo & James Umble

As part of Lenoir-Rhyne University’s 2014-15 Concert Series, a performance by The Cleveland Duo and James Umble will be presented on Friday, February 6 at 7:30 p.m. in Grace Chapel.

“It is rare to find a group with this instrumentation and this level of innovative, eclectic programming,” said John Cheek, Professor of Music at Lenoir-Rhyne. “We are proud to present what promises to be a unique and captivating performance.” According to Cheek, the concert will feature a program of chamber music, jazz and Jewish music for saxophone, violins and piano.

Ecumenical Worship Service scheduled at Lenoir-Rhyne

Students at Lenoir-Rhyne University are offering an ecumenical worship service to conclude the annual Week of Prayer for Christian Unity on Sunday, January 25 at 5:00 p.m. in Grace Chapel.

Students from many organizations including Campus Crusade for Christ, Catholic Campus Ministry, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, InterVarsity Christian Fellowship, Lutheran Student Movement, and Ratio Christi will join with visitors and guests to offer what is planned as an hour-long service of praise and celebration.
