LRU holds joint commencement ceremony in Columbia, S.C.

Lenoir-Rhyne University’s Center for Graduate Studies of Columbia and the Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary held a joint commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 21 at Ebenezer Lutheran Church in Columbia, S.C. A reception sponsored by the Seminary Auxiliary immediately followed the service. 

A Baccalaureate Service was also held the Friday before commencement, May 20 at 7 p.m., with a reception following.

LRU’s Music Program hosts fourth annual summer camp

Lenoir-Rhyne University is hosting its fourth annual Summer Youth Music Band Camp for high school and middle school students. The camp is scheduled from Monday, July 11 through Friday, July 15 in the Mauney Music Building, located on the campus of LRU. Instruction is from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with supervised early drop-off in the morning, beginning at 8 a.m., and afternoon recreational time until 5:30 p.m. Applications for the program are due by Monday, July 6.

“The band camp offers students a fun way to continue to develop their skills as young musicians and, at the same time, provides an opportunity for them to keep active with music during the summer,” said Dr. Christopher Nigrelli, Director of the camp and Professor of Music at LRU.

LRU hosts An Evening of Classic Music

Lenoir-Rhyne University will host a performance of accomplished musicians from the Western Piedmont Sister City of Altenburg, Germany. The concert offers an evening of classic music and is scheduled for Saturday, May 28 from 5 until 6:30 p.m. in Grace Chapel. LRU has been a music partner of the Western Piedmont Sister Cities since its inception 23 years ago, and works in conjunction with the association to bring prominent music professionals to cities throughout the Unifour.
