LRU Music Professor to host trombone event

Lenoir-Rhyne University's Music Program is inviting local trombonists to take part in a Trombonanza event this Saturday, May 20 from 10:30 a.m. – 12 p.m. in Mauney Music Building.

Dr. Chris Nigrelli, Professor of Music at LRU and lead trombonist for the Western Piedmont Symphony will host the event, which is intended for musicians of all levels. The Trombonanza will begin with smaller ensembles and more difficult music, and progress to easier music for less advanced musicians.

"The idea behind the event is to gather with other like-minded musicians and enjoy playing music together," Nigrelli said. "Attendees can come early and enjoy listening, and when the music reaches a level they are comfortable with, they can jump in and join the ensemble."
